the story of Bluff Mountain Inn We are a family owned and operated business, specializing in weddings, receptions, private parties and celebrations at our beautiful facility at the base of Bluff Mountain. Bluff Mountain, as it's referred to by Sevier County locals, is actually the first mountain in the Chilhowee Bluff Mountain range which runs from Sevierville, TN east toward North Carolina. Prior to the family purchasing the inn, it was called Chilhowee Bluff Inn, and was listed as one of the gems of the smokies in the Select Registry of Country Inns. Another component of the facility was a small gourmet restaurant called the Hungry Bear Bistro. The Hungry Bear was a favorite of locals and tourists who would seek it out for the fine French cuisine served by Chef Judy Huddack, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, and a professor at Walter State Community College in Sevierville, TN. When Joe, Chef Judy's husband, was relocated to Ogden, UT, they decided to sell the inn and move. And as fate would have it, we were interested in expanding our catering and wedding planning services, and this location seemed like a perfect fit. Every aspect of the Chilhowee Bluff Inn and the Hungry Bear Bistro plays an important part in the Bluff Mountain Inn Wedding experience. We are able to prepare fine foods in our exquisite professional kitchen, designed by a CIA trained professional chef. And guests can wine, dine and dance in the beautiful, elegant dining room we still refer to as the "bistro". The bistro dining room has vaulted natural wood ceilings, large windows which make you feel like you're dining in the midst of the natural setting, a large stone fireplace with gas logs, oversized decks for outdoor seating when the weather permits, an elegant double door entry way, and photographic art from wedding photos of our relatives and loved ones, plus and original art display of the Churches of Sevier County; a one of a kind photographic exhibit by owner/photographer Rick King. These photos are of churches around Sevier County, and from the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Rick King is also an internationally recognized musician and conductor who has toured extensively with various acts including Olivia Newton-John, Louise Mandrell, Gary Morris, Eddie Rabbit and others as musical director or conductor/arranger. Photos of Mr. King with various artists are displayed in the entry way of the inn, and guests often enjoy looking for photos of their favorite stars on our "wall of fame". The rooms of the inn are now reserved for the use of our brides, who can have plenty of space for relaxing and preparing every detail of their wedding experience. Each room has a private bath, jacuzzi tub, private dressing/makeup table area, fireplace, TV, King or Queen size bed, comfortable reclining chairs, and ample space for laying our your ensemble prior to the special event. They also offer excellent photo opportunities. You can see many views of brides and their loved ones in these rooms at www.cbgphotos.com Weddings can be stressful for many reasons.
